Welcome to the Washington Elementary Website! My name is Miss Nicki Jiran (pronounced Juh-ran) and I am in my third year as principal at Washington K-1. A little about me, I have been in education for 28 years and have been in administration for 19 years. I went to Miami University for my undergraduate degree and the University of Cincinnati for my graduate degree. I have served as a teacher all the way up to superintendent. I returned to being a principal because I miss the kids!
I am very proud of our improvement efforts. This past year, Washington earned an overall "A" on the state report card by focusing on school improvement specifically in the area of literacy. Our entire staff is dedicated to students achieving their best. We utilize small group instruction, adaptive software, and progress monitoring to provide the best data-driven instruction we can. Beyond our literacy efforts, I also proud of our implementation of PAX. PAX is a research-based program that teaches students self-regulation and sets up behavioral expectations. You can learn more at www.goodbehaviorgame.org.
If you have any questions or concerns about our school or your student, please do not hesitate to call or email. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org or the office phone number is 419-447-1072.
Washington is a great place to be!
Yours in education,
